thesagittarian12 says,

"Let it go, mate, just let it go." Cringe.

maryjane31 says,

When I am shopping at a department store here in the South, and the salesgirl saids " can I help you sugar"? I detest terms of endearment by strangers. Cringe, gag, vomit!!!!

marymc says,

Where you gonna be at?

jl333 says,

I hate that one too Marymc. Never end a sentence with the word 'at'!

jene2008 says,

"I know, right?" I have to hold myself back from choking anyone who says it.

accidentaltourist says,

"Have a good one." Don't mind "have a great/nice/beautiful day/night"...but the other *shudder*

Larry_D._Smith says,

"Good for you."

scribbling_scribe says,

"May I see your license, ma'am."

ba_miracle says,

"what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"
Really? Until it finally does or just makes you wish it had.

But I do like the Kelly Clarkson song with the line.

skyrocketjones says,

"Well, that's your perception and perception is reality to the perceiver." Cop out and crap speak by this one person who won't take responsibility for their actions that contributed to or created a problem.

FortuneGoddess says,

"YOLO."

favepeep says,

I hadn't thought of "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" til I read ba_miracles comment. When people say it, I want to scream awful things at them. The one I first thought of was, "It is what it is." I don't even know what that means.

ctgoods2 says,

"this here"

JAD says,

"Why come"

Wench says,

"How you doin'?"

TeaTopper says,

On the radio, the word "entrepreneur" is used a lot and is usually mispronounced, even by the professional announcers.

LucidDreamer says,

"I know this isn't really part of your job, but...."

NumbrOneAunt says,

i was going to say "at the end of the day..." until i saw ba_miracles' choice of 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". a glib, pre-fab catch phrase NEVER helps a person who is facing a devastating situation.

ba_miracle says,

I didn't want to ruin a perfectly good saying. It is useful and empowering if you have past the point of crises and I used to say it a lot.

Favepeep, "it is what it is" something I tell myself all the time but try not to say to other people. Usually in reference to a situation I/they wished was different but just isn't or ever going to be.

Maryjane31, It IS a bad habit I picked up since moving to the south and having worked in retail. Terms of endearment to total strangers. It was brought to my attention in a recent professional situation. For a habit I've only had a short time it is proving a challenge to untangle from my vernacular. I will use your post as a reminder.

DappleGreyMoon says,

What's up? (I would respond with either the ceiling or the atmosphere)

DappleGreyMoon says,

I like "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". It makes sense when not faced by something. When I do feel like something is trying to kill me, it makes me angry and that gives me strength to not get "killed".
