"Literally".....a bit over-used. And I agree with Wench on the "Everything happens for a reason" line....I always want to reply, "Yes, I know - and that reason is that for many of us, life sucks." *insert sweet smile here*
I'm with Bevvie--not a fan of "It is what it is." It's what some people say when they are at a loss for words or are incapable of describing what IT is!
"But with me it's different" then speaker goes on to say something quite similar to what you just said. OR "I'm weird with that because" It's as if the speaker needs to make themselves seem special. OR "We're not equals." In reference to the mother/daughter relationship or authority and underling relationships. My mother always told me this in an argument or at other points in my childhood, drove me absolutely nuts.
"Are you guys still working on that?" Why does every wait person address customers, irregardless of sex, in this manner? Geez, I feel like I'm some kind of eunuch assigned to a construction project somewhere.
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?
