I don't think so. I fade away from highly critical people, obviously because I was sensitized to it. But still, I don't find it attractive or endearing.
My mom is an alpha personality while I am so not. She is also much more rigid than I am. No, I don't think we would be friends if we were the same age.
My mom and I were so much alike ( she has dementia too) before she became sick, we were indeed friends in fact all of her daughters were her friends. She's the only person I Know who never had a friend outside the family.
Hard to say. My mom and I were close before she died, but I was 16 then and I never really got to know her as one adult mind to another. I like to think that we'd be good friends.
