marymc says,

Penguin. The only bird I like.

MrsPremise says,

A crow, I think. Probably for their intelligence, adaptability and long life. Don't they collect stuff too?

Mourningdove says,

Umm Morning dove? Common, dull, and peaceful.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX says,

a crane...they're beautiful!

Sagacious says,

Owl. It'd be a hoot! :-D

Bevvie says,

Falcon or Hawk or any bird of prey cause they are so powerful!

KharisJo says,

tawny frogmouth, these shy beautiful creatures live in the bush near our house and it's a joy to spot them in the eucalypts on an evening walk as they're well camouflaged.

BanjoDan says,

an albatross that can soar for days

KharisJo says,

surprised noone mentioned turkeys this week! Birds are all so beautiful and inspiring. One of my fav Christmas gifts was a pair of figurines my late father gave me, an eagle and an owl, which I like to think symbolise the strength and wisdom he imparted.

jab says,

Definitely an owl. Exceptional vision, acute hearing, powerful and intriguing, beautiful to watch.

Level1 says,

A bowerbird, but then I would have to be male. The males build structures (bowers) that they then decorate, (yes, actually decorate) with shells, leaves, flowers, feathers, stones, berries, pieces of broken glass and other found objects, to attract females for courtship. They are not beautiful like some other birds but they create very beautiful and inviting homes.

KharisJo says,

bowerbirds found here in SE Queensland rainforests- female drab but male shiny black with iridescent blue tinge in sunshine. They particularly collect bright blue objects in their bowers.
