Backstory
By 'real', I mean you went to a concert with only your friends, boyfriend, girlfriend...no parents, chaperones, teachers, etc. And now, to give you an idea of how old I am - my first 'real' concert was.....The Clash. Saw 'em in Richmond, VA....finally felt like an honest-to-God teenager (there wasn't much to do out where I grew up...we had to drive 1.5 hours to get there. We loved every second of that evening and yet, I cannot remember who the heck opened for them...some-timers strikes again!)

Boston at Madison Square Garden. A very big deal for a 14 year old Jersey girl.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX says,
Steppenwolf at Filmore West...my hearing still not the same.MrsPremise says,
Siegel-Schwall, in 1971. Notre Dame in the 70's and 80's used to bring in huge concerts. Eagles, Jackson Brown and Linda Ronstadt, Frank Zappa, Bruce, etc. But I saw Corky and Jim numerous time in a smaller venue there. Not bad for a smaller, midwest town.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX says,

Yep, it was kinda hard to top Zep as concerts go.Level1 says,
I meant after that. I saw many, many more concerts but none came close to that first one.LucidDreamer says,

Oh this is so sad. Not counting classical concerts (which were constant) my first concert was the short lived pop band, No Doubt.KharisJo says,

Well, the first concert I saw with just friends was The Lemonheads at Firt Avenue in MPLS. But honestly, my first concert counts more (even though I was with my mom!). I saw Michael Jackson on his Thriller tour when I was 10. I begged my mom to take me and even though my parents could not afford it, they knew how much I loved MJ at the time and let me go anyway! After that my mom ended up taking me to tons more shows- she was actually happy when I got my driver's license so I could take myself to see "all that weird music".
