soularcher says,

Apart from puppies, iPod. Or Amazon Kindle.

Contemplative says,

Cat was my first response. Photo album would be second if I had one. In my case, soularcher, it would be my Nook.

Bevvie says,

A version of this question is on a college exam that all students take in Georgia. Since I live alone now and assume that family would be a given, I would say my purse! Too much important stuff in that baby!

Loon says,

the hose

sisterpoet says,

Antique stained glass church window from england

sisterpoet says,

do I have time for my framed picture of Morrissey with a swatch of his shirt I ripped out of the tattooed man's hand? DARN

Contemplative says,

Documents in purse a good one. The hose, actually the fire extinguisher, was going to be my other answer, too. The window, a little bulky perhaps but give it a try. The picture, well, if you want to chance it, maybe better to move that to offsite fireproof storage and have duplicate imposter made for the house.

marymc says,

If hubby has the pups, I'm grabbing my laptop. And the ceramic dinosaur my son made in 1st grade. And my sketchbook. Important papers file. Grandma's engagement ring. The photo album/scrapbook I made hubby. And the photo of dad and I at the beach when I was 3....

Contemplative says,

Beautiful selections marymc, especially touched by the ceramic dinosaur since I have one of my own, used to be part of my nickname. Other items of significant importance as well. Be sure to get out in time. Great choices!
