What prompted you to join SMITH?

Backstory

Being part of a community, connecting with others, especially since in suburbs without license. The challenge. The creative outlet. Friend I met in Dialectical Behavior Therapy told me her wonderfully talented features and inspired me to share too!

Saw the invitation under my HonestTea cap one day and thought it looked like fun. It morphed into curiosity, community in a new place, the challenge, reading the talented, creative 6Word Memoirsists' nuggets. Yeah, so how about everyone else??

I read a short description of six-word stories and smithmag.net in an article in a Famous Footwear magazine Mind Body Sole in fall 2010. But I forgot about the article until I read it again in 2011. Then I logged on and Ican't log off.

I don't remember how or why but I knew about SMITH before I attended a Brooklyn Book Festival where Rachel was hosting a six word slam at one of the stages. That live performance got me interested.

Read a review of the first book and ran out and bought it. I then decided that I wanted to be in all of the future books! I've been in two so far :)
