I would love to hear what sort of responses you got if you posed this question in a philosophy chat-room. The idea that our will is governed by something other than ourselves I find terrifying. I like to think that 'I' the individual exists and there isn't some alien thinking and controlling my thoughts because it completely screws with my sense of identity and reality.
To answer you're question, yes, I think it does, but I also know that I have done things without consciously planning them and wondered immediately after I had done that thing what made me do it. My idea on this is that some suppressed subconscious need was expressing a need that materialised in the action without me being consciously aware that it was going to happen. This is a classic situation where I wonder if we can ever COMPLETELY be (held) responsible for all our actions.
About Six-Word Questions
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?

Of course it does. But just because your will is free does not mean that your action does not have consequence.Sagacious says,
