If you're a student, people come and go like the tides. Some of the best (and hardest to hear) advice I got while in college was that I shouldn't expect the friends I had there to be my friends for life. In school, you're still becoming who you're going to be. Hell, I'm 43 and I'm still working on who I'm going to be. We're all going through this, and therefore still enter and exit phases in our lives that produce and conclude friendships. There will be a few who stay there no matter what, but they will be rare. Treasure them like they're blood family.
About Six-Word Questions
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?
