MO_Thoughts2 says,

Because what we adults see as important may not be the same for a child. I remember when my kids were little I would ask them what their favorite part of the day was. The answer was usually something I did not expect.

marymc says,

My brother and I grew up in the same house with the same parents at the same time. We have very different thoughts on our childhood. It's all perspective,

accidentaltourist says,

I'm with marymc on this one. My siblings and I don't see our childhood years the same way. I thought it was a fluke until I heard my own children recount events from their younger years in wildly different ways. They forget that I was THERE, I think.

Jeanette_Cheezum says,

Accidental, it amazes me how different I remember some of the events I hear two of my three daughters say. When I tell them what really happened they laugh. Scary, huh?
