Greatest love song/story and why?

Backstory

Queen - Making Me Live
ranks up there for me (except the "I've been wandering round" part).

Garbage - #1 Crush
is a perfectly dysfunctional love song.
It was surprising to see this one on several "Top Love Song" lists.

Christina Perri - Thousand Years
Seems simple honest and true.

Sagacious says,

One I love is "Come Back" by Pearl Jam. "Please say that if you hadn't gone now, I wouldn't have lost you any other way. From wherever you are, oooooooo, come back." My interpretation is of a guy's whose partner has died. He's misses her soooo much. The lyrics are beautiful- drenched with sadness and longing. :'-(

Sagacious, I just had to go listen to it again because it's so good. Love Pearl Jam.

H2point0 says,

"Eyes of Zapata;" "Places to Rest."

Wench says,

1952 Vincent Black Lightning, by Richard Thompson. If you haven't heard it, look it up. One of my favorite songs of all time.

BanjoDan says,

Green green grass of home - i heard it today for the first time in years and it reaal got me choked up

ba_miracle says,

Wench you must be a red head at heart. I relate to that girl and always felt those bad boys were easier to manage. It was the good man who broke my heart most thoroughly.

TheAngstyPoet says,

Tristan and Isolde. It seems so real. There seems to always be that third person.
