When kids were growing up, we went once a year. Most of the time to Florida to see my mother. We all loved it down here and decided years ago to retire here. Never regretted it. Florida is lovely with a wonderful climate and I would always recommend it to anyone.
Time and responsibilities usually only allow for mini vacations. So I try to take a few long weekends throughout the year. This year I think I've taken 3 or 4 with a couple more planned before the end of the year.
My honeymoon was almost 2 years ago....I've been married 5 1/2 years. Hubby tries to convince me that our yearly NYC trips are vacations, but when you spend 9 hours a day of that vacation on the floor of a trade show, I don't really think that counts. When I was a single mom, I couldn't afford vacations, so my honeymoon was the first one in 20 years.
Usually 2 in the summer, one in the winter and many short road trips/weekend getaways throughout the year.
