VW Beetle, blue-grey in colour. My first, real love:-)

KharisJo says,

Electric blue Merc sports convertible.
(this is a creative writing site, right?)
truthfully it was a Datsun Bluebird station wagon, four on the floor, had to be in first gear always to get up a hill.

MsKillie says,

A red Plymouth Horizon that started on fire my last day of HS. This forced me to share a station wagon with my grandma the summer before I moved away to college. I spent a lot of time chauffeuring her to Wal-mart and getting yelled at for leaving the radio turned up too loud...

Believe says,

Chrysler lebaron. Dad said it was "rosewood". It was pink.

BanjoDan says,

Souped up chevy i boughtvfrom a friend un high school

TheProsperousArtist says,

Lucy. White '82 Corolla.

Sagacious, my second car was Goldie the Golden Holden (gold '75 sedan) when I was an Aussie ('91-'94). She was supposed to be a station wagon, but I let the father-out-law talk me into taking a test drive, and I fell in love. She was a sweet car - automatic, air-conditioned, smooth ride - they last forever because they don't rust out there.

I sold her to an aboriginal guy before I left Tennant Creek (very small town, 3500 people). Suddenly, my car started showing up in strange men's driveways, and rumors flew. News of my presumed liaisons apparently spread a lot faster than news she was no longer my car. (Now, having seen the Big Bang Theory episode "The Herb Garden Germination", I finally understand why. :-)

(Steve, Holden is the Australian-made GM make. Think old Chevy.)

Meanwhile, I'd moved on to Elsie ("LC") the (enormous, large-wheel-base) Land Cruiser, who, while parked outside my house, got hit at 2am and (almost but not quite) totalled by a drunken birthday celebrant, before I ever really got a chance to drive her. The sound woke me up, screaming "NO!!!", because I knew instantly what it was. Insurance rebuilt her for me, over a period of months, delaying my return to Tennant Creek from Darwin. Awesome off-road vehicle, if only I'd been qualified to drive one. Got stuck in the mud up to the chassis in the middle of nowhere in northern WA - took two other 4WD's to finally pull us out. She had a second petrol tank (150 liters total!) for long trips and a full-length roof rack you could walk on. We kept two giant spare water jugs up there.

Current car is Sally - "electric green" '2000 Mustang: www.GreenMustang.com. I've loved all these cars, but Sally is the automotive love of my life.

Loon says,

65 Mustang, tits car of the century

Steve__Anthony says,

Loon, my brother's first car was a 65 Mustang (got it in '78) with a Pony interior and flowers painted on the hood. It was orange. Nowadays, he drives a mini-van.

TawnyPort says,

1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass (my parents bought it for me in '78). It was gold with a black vinyl roof, black leather interior, and one of those long, long antennas that would whip around in the wind.

Bullitt says,

'72 Chevy Malibu, kelly green, and she was fast.

Steve__Anthony says,

My '72 Montego was a used brown lemon.

accidentaltourist says,

The first car I owned was a 68 Dodge, big as a house, mom's cast-off. The first car I bought myself was a 69 Ford Fairlane. Damn thing never really ran right, and I spent a lot of time coaxing it to start in the school parking lot. But the sweetest compliment I ever got was from a guy who stopped to help me and said, "you're way too pretty a girl to drive a piece of shit car like this."

TheAngstyPoet says,

Pink Barbie convertible :)
(...still need my license)

TheProsperousArtist says,

They don't make kelly green cars anymore. Or electric green. Shame.
Glad I got one of the last, before color apparently went out of style.

Amapola says,

I've never owned a car. But I loved my dad's first: a Peugeot 404
