I support the freedom of speech, opinion and religious beliefs. In my opinion, that is what this is about. It's not about gay rights. I also support gay marriage.
I support the freedom of speech, though I think the guy is obviously a douchebag. I also think that the menu is disgusting since I'm a vegetarian, so there is no way I would ever spend any of my money there anyway. Since I want myself and PETA to be able to speak out against animal abuse and factory-farming, I guess we can't take away that loser's rights either.
I personally believe that what he said wasn't a big deal. He was specifically asked his beliefs, and he stated them. He didn't say "I hate gays." Chikfila doesn't discriminate against gays either. He simply answered a question he was asked. I mean, it's a Christian business, what do they expect? I just think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion.
About Six-Word Questions
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?
