I honestly just can't believe someone would do something like that to this poor woman...

It was three someones, all middle-school boys. Of course, boys in that age group aren't known for being level-headed, but these kids should have known better. Seems at least one of the kids' family has been receiving death threats, which is ludicrous, but there should still be some appropriate harsh punishment in store for these idiots. I can tell you that if my son had engaged in this sort of behavior, it would be a long time before he would see daylight or have any kind of privilege... or sit comfortably.Hannahmo says,
One of the fathers said the boys have been punished enough by having the video made public but I disagree. They haven't even apologized to her yet. Absolutely sickening.accidentaltourist says,
Is it not true that the video was made by the kids themselves? and publicized by them? How is that punishment?I'm with Dean. If a child of mine behaved this way, with or without video evidence....all I would need is a whisper of it....there would be very serious consequences.

i'm not a parent myself, but if a child of mine did something like this, i think i'd be looking for a punishment that would make him feel the distress he inflicted on the bus monitor. i don't know what that punishment would be, though. i find it hard to believe that a father said the boys had been punished enough by having the video made public!jl333 says,
Yes, the verbal abuse was captured in a 10 minute cell phone video, and later posted on YouTube. Here's the outrage--at one point, the boy said to the bus monitor, "You don't have a family because they all killed themselves because they don't want to be near you." This lady's oldest son killed himself 10 years ago. This is sad, sad, sad. And now the parents are upset because the boys are getting bullied? Ha! They should've taught them boys to better behave themselves, and then they wouldn't be in this situation, now would they?!? Funny how they could dish it out, but when the tables are turned, they become cowards.Wench says,
My dad said if he had done this at their age, he would have been expelled. No questions asked. I am appalled by these kids behavior. They should have known better. Maybe they did. Peer pressure is a terrible thing and middle school boys are mercilessly cruel. There was a boy in my school they used to tease every day until he cried for no good reason. I was his friend, so I got teased too. I'd even be willing to bet that these kids have decent parents. When you're that young, you don't fully realize how damaging you can be. But that's not an excuse. There are plenty of children that age who know better. Shameful.
