I honestly think this whole "love" thing is purely chemical. People with similar chemical (genetic) make-up rarely fall in love. You hardly ever hear (though it DOES happen) of sexual attraction between a brother and sister, for example. I think, for some couples, the chemical(love) reactions between the partners continues for longer than it does for others. Ultimately, for most (if not all) couples, the chemistry eventually wears off and they become (hopefully) friends, with the crazy sexual attraction almost totally gone. Of course some, missing that sexual craziness, then go looking for it elsewhere.
I heard there are three or four stages that start with the initial physical attraction. Maybe people never move out of it to the next " mature" stages of friendship and respect. If this is the case, 'twas never really love just list which if course fades.... Not sure?????
My head hurts ...
Lust and love are both four letter words.
Lust is far too powerful to last, but, if you're lucky, a little lust rears its head from time to time.
Love is a more sustaining relationship and changes over time, and if you're lucky, your heart will tell you what you want to hear.
As Woody Allen said, the heart wants what the heart wants.
