Feel a cold coming on? Hot & sour soup, an eggroll with as much hot mustard as you can stand, pour a healthy scotch, wrap up in a quilt and sweat it out.
Not exactly a home remedy because it is a re-purposing of a purchased product. I still have an old can of Corona Ointment that my mom had when I was a teen. It's almost pure lanolin and is outstanding for very dry, cracked skin. Slather it on then put on gloves or heavy socks, go to bed...enjoy the morning miracle. You can still buy it at places like Tractor Supply but it isn't the same recipe. Still, works better than bag balm. Its real use is to keep the corona band, above the animal's hoof, moisturized to prevent cracking and promote healthy hoof growth.
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?

That reminds me vaguely of the hot mustard plasters that Mom used to put on me when I was little.MrsPremise says,
Not so much a remedy...but running hot water on an itch stops the itching for most of the day.maryjane31 says,
A paste of baking soda applied to a wasp or bee sting really works. I used it many times on my kids when they got stung.L2L3 says,
