Grandma was badass! Took no s@$t from anyone yet was sweet as appple pie and loving beyond belief to me. She was human in other words. I liked her spunk
She always made every one of us feel like we were the favorite. She thought I was smarter and better than I thought possible. And she made the best cookies in the world.
Both grandfathers died well before I was born and my paternal grandmother was rather stand-offish, stoic so the only grandparent I really remember was my maternal grandmother, Rae. She died when I was 8 or 9 years old but I remember feeling loved for just being me when I was around her.
The ones I like best are the ones that died before I was born, so I didn't have to go to a funeral.
About Six-Word Questions
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?
