marymc, you are going to be right, here. I gave myself several organizing projects this week and the one that has taken over my hours in the basement. I live in a 1919 house and the basement has been storage piles (growing) and laundry room for the 5 years I've lived here. I want it to be a friendlier space (not to live in, necessarily, but just not spider haven). So far, I have taken out 4 bags of donation items, 5 bags of trash and recycling, have swept and washed the floor, scrubbed the walls, windexed some windows, and vacuumed cobwebs out of most of the ceiling. I also organized those things that are still being stored, posted some stuff on craigslist... I am going on and on. AND I set up a little workout area with my treadmill, weights, and yoga gear. The tree will have to wait.
Ironic that I spent all my time working on the basement, then left town for a long weekend New Year's getaway, so I haven't used my home workout space yet. It's for 2012, I guess!
About Six-Word Questions
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?
