You guys are spot on....the celebrity worship is so strange to begin with. I can see admiring the work, ethics, ideas, etc. of another person - artists, writers, actors, chefs, moms, dads, scientists, nurses, volunteers of all kinds....the list goes on and on, and there are wonderful people doing amazing things everywhere. But the over-the-top cult-ish following some people develope (sometimes against their own choosing) is not healthy for the followed or the followers.
