I send personal messages, like a handwritten note or card if I know someone's going through a rough time, or sometimes do practical things like taking them to appointments or doing housework. People just really want to know that someone cares about them.
Like butterflyxxx, I send notes and cards and sometimes small gifts, like bookmarks or journals. I also call regularly! I agree with the sentiment that people just want to know that someone is thinking about them with love. When I have been down, I really appreciated the calls and cards. Plus, you need to tailor the actions to the person. For example, some people don't like visits or they don't like to talk. So, you go with what each person needs from you!
SMITH Magazine brings you an entirely new kind of six-word experience: Six-Word Questions. This is the place to pose a question to the SMITH community from, "What are your favorite Six-Word quotations" to challenging members to pen Six-Word Obituaries to the recently departed to Six-Word jokes and any other Six-Word question you can dream up. You can even request that the responses be in six words. Everyone has a question—what's yours?
