First Solar, replacing $125,000,000 defective panels
Backstory
The Walton family may know Walmart and retailing but are losing big with First Solar. 125 million worth of defective panels had to be replaced, there is an additional 37 million in reserve to cover replacement of more junk panels.They face an investor class action lawsuit, stock price is tanking and have laid off thousands.
Solar is NOT ready for prime time, and due to energy density of solar influx may well never be for any but niche applications.
