I’m loving the detail, particularly on the last page. Everything from the chord formation on the guitar players’ hand to the brand name on the amp is spot-on.

    P. S. This is often the sort of thing I imagine.

I don’t get it. People are strange. Great art!

Love the perspective in the third frame. I see pie!

Especially love “Hero Saves Cat” on the newspaper headline.

    Great specifics, great work.

my favorite character is the producer with the jheri curl. Why do producers love that hairstyle so much?

I love the guys’ fist when he names his instrument!

Sean Pryor’s visual storytelling continues to catch the eye and engage the mind while relentlessly evolving in new artistic directions as he expertly wrings more and more out of two dimensional space.

Sean : Nice job! You do a great job with environments. And did you nail Tommy’s restaurant from memory??? amazing..

the bar’s from memory, i had reference for the 3rd page. i found out after it was inked that the pie display freezer was a coke machine.

the guy in the booth is actually based on someone i know from where i live. bizarre mix of events link me to this guy. i figured it would help add personal resonance.

Good lord does this site have a slow and terrible interface. Good content with the Pekar, it’d be nice if the editors didn’t make it such an utter chore to read in their fantic pursuit of clicks. This is the opposite of reader-friendly, it’s downright unpleasant.

I love the bar stool, the left hand counter stool has a reflection of the paper Harvey is reading in it.

I like harvey pekar. I dont call him because what am I gonna say? Hey harvey thanks for living such a hard and lousy life like mine, I have a life that is real hell and always has been and its good to know that I aint alone living like this.
and whats he gonna say back to me? yeah screw off Simon I aint nothing like you, you loser go die.
and then Im alone again in this shitty world. so no I aint gonna try to call him and thank him for not letting me be alone out there, I got a lousy life and always have but hey if Harvey can do it ? maybe I can too so thanks mr. pekar.
    I aint alone anyway.

    Simon,

First off, I’m glad you noticed the reflection in the bar stools. That was one of my favorite things to draw.

I honestly think that if you try to contact Harvey to thank him he would be very appreciative. Trust me when I say that Harvey Pekar will never turn down a pat on the back.

Thanks for reading, Simon. I hope the rest of the run on this whole thing is worth the eyeball time it takes to read it.

I was curious about what the heck this guy was playing. I found this: http://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O184606/print-etching-hand-h-beard-print-collection/

So this guy was an exterminator making jokes in reference to an 18th century etching? I wonder what kind of pie he had.

This website definitely has all of the info I needed about this subject and didn’t know who to ask.
