Heh heh. A branch of my family comes from Galicia. So I’m at least one-quarter yokel.

I think I may recognize someone I know….
Is that the one and only JahFurry?
Thanks to Harvey, Jah-Fluffy and Rick for advancing my yiddish knowledge a bissel. All I knew previously about Galitizianers was that my parents smiled and rolled their eyes knowingly whenever this particular sub-tribe was mentioned…and that a lot of them appear to have migrated to South Africa.
Loved this strip personally I am fascinated by Austria-Hungarian History. Especially Emperor Ferdinand, the retarded epileptic and large headed emperor whose most famous proclamation was “I am the Emperor and I want Dumplings”. Once while speakiing in Yiddish with a grocer near Mahane Yehuda in Jerusalem I told him that I thought he had a Galitzianer accent but he didn’t know what I was talking about. Nu?
