Call for Submissions: the Obama Millennium Award

Friday, February 20th, 2009

By Chris Teja

With the election of Barack Obama spawning a seemingly never-ending supply of thoughtful, quality writing all over the internet, our friends at New Millennium Writings have decided to have an Obama-themed writing contest to commemorate this historic time in our millennium.

In addition to nonfiction, NMW is also accepting fiction and poetry submissions on the subject of Obama’s election and what it means to you and to our society. One winner and three-runners up will win cash prizes in addition to having their work published in the next issue of NMW (due out in November) and on the NMW website.

Submissions should be 2,500 or less and the deadline is Sunday, March 1st at midnight. Contestants can submit their work either online or via snail mail.
