This is the first installment of your work that I have read and I love it. It’s the kind of NY that I remember as a kid in the seventies.
I like this story. It has a real oral history flavor to its narrative.
The observational point of view gives as much as what is factual along with a sense of wonder, followed by the matter of fact bland acceptance.
The piecing together narrative of Mr. James life was an interesting side story arc.

I like these kind of narrative loops, where time is measured in peoples lives.
I guess that means I’m getting old or something, but it’s fun to see the shapes and the symmetry of things.
I like this story, Joshs’ art is always very engaging and the story quietly pulls you in. I wish it were longer.

The older neighbor you never really knew that well cause you were a kid and didn’t think outside your little world. I had a couple of those.
One day an ambulance come to there house and you never see them again.
I had to let this one sink in for a few days. I slowly came to understand it more and more.

i realized today that every time a new ndn story posts i almost always end up rereading “the beekeeper”.
i knew from it’s initial posting how much i enjoyed the story, but it’s taken me till now to really appreciate how layered this story really is. terrific collaboration…
