Love it! Ames & Bertozzi make GREAT collaborators - which isn’t surprising if you think of their individual styles & subject matters. I loved all the little details, textual and visual, which augment and never duplicate each other. And I actually laughed out loud at the thought of pugilist Ames screaming for help, scared of a cockroach! Excellent debut for Haspiel’s N-D-N anthology.
Well, the story is great and I like that scary atmosphere… but I think the quality of drawing and inking has nothing to do with the one I saw in The Salon… It really dissappoints me

Awsome teaming of Ames and Bertozzi.
Ames should do a comic just about his hair.
This is sweet! Nice work, gennulmen.
I guess in a set up like that, you can cook or wash your buns
in the area.
Always good to see more Bertozzi and Ames. Together is even better. Looking forward to The Alcoholic.
wow, this teamup in concept was killer, and its execution is uberdooperkiller! the last panel kills me.
Slick work, boys… Bertozzi gives great Ames!
An auspicious beginning to the NDN series indeed…
This strip is a fantastic opener. A great story to set the pace.

good as always, nick!
I could definitely relate to this on so many levels…good stuff!!
The whole baseball-bat sequence is FANTASDTIC! The story is pretty good, but for me it’s the art that does it. The Salon is fucking fabulous too.
