What's Your Next-Door Neighbor Story?

He is my cousin

New York City: 1990's, upper east side, 71st street and second avenue. A row of 5 story walkup buildings that contain many small studio apartments converted from bigger one bedroom apartments. In my building there were fire places in the room which forced you to place your bed on common wall between apartments. There was an electrical outlet near my be through which I could hear my neighbors every move late at night. She was French and had a regular American boyfriend, but many suitors. One early Sunday morning I am awakened at about 6 am as I hear my neighbor having sex. I naturally assume it is her and her boyfriend, but they are both speaking French. I thought maybe he took a weekend class or something? A true romantic? After about an hour their torrid sexual experience comes to a climax, literally. I then hear nothing. Sometime around 7 am I hear keys jingling out in the hallway; I also hear commotion next door and a lot of speaking in French. I hear the lock turn and someone enter. I couldn't see anything, but I could only imagine the look on her boyfriends face when he saw his girlfriend in bed with another guy. Thinking quickly she said,"He is my cousin". At which point I had to let out a loud laugh and covered my face with my pillow to silence my laughter. Fortunately for me the yelling and screaming next door helped! The young French woman moved out shortly thereafter. Six months later I saw her and her American boyfriend walking in the neighborhood. As I walked passed I noticed that she was very pregnant. I wonder if the babies first words were in English or French?
