What's Your Next-Door Neighbor Story?

Mty neighbor, the Smurf Killer!

When we bought our house two years ago it was still being built. The builder took me into the house next door to show me the cabinets because our new neighbor was getting the same ones and I wanted to see what they looked like when they were finished. Before he opened the door he warned me, "When you see this, don't ask me what this woman was thinking!". We went inside and I have never seen so much blue in my life. The walls and ceilings were painted a sort of sky blue. The carpets were all Cookie Monster blue. The ceramic tile in the kitchen was beige with blue veins running through it, like Smurf blood trickling along the cracks in the floor. The countertops were green with the same Smurf blue splattered all over them. It was interesting to say the least. I went home later and when my husband asked what the cabinets looked like, I said the cabinets were nice but the rest of the house looks like the site of a great Smurf massacre. The builder and I took him over there a couple of days later to see it for himself. We found out shortly after this that her first name is Edna. So from that point forward, her name has been Edna Smurfkiller.

Obviously blue is her favorite color. Not only is everything in her house blue, she always wears blue. She walks outside in her blue nightgown, she has something blue on every time we see her, and even her dog is wearing a blue bandana. What makes it all even more amusing is that we still to this day refer to her as Edna Smurfkiller, and our friends and family all know her by that name, too.
