cricket7 says,

You were only 17 when you went off to World War 11 ,you were taken out of school, off the farm away from you parents, brothers & sisters, you fought for our freedom, but you came back alive ,but your life as you once knew it died on that battlefield your childhood died there also for me & my 5 brothers & Mom. Returning from war when your family first saw you walking down the old dusty road back to the farm & to them your sister told me you were not the same brother they once knew. You died for me on that battlefield for all of us.I am sorry Daddy you saw so much death, so much pain for a young farm boy.
