In times of sadness and despair, it always helps me to go out among humanity. I go where people are relaxing and having a good time. Actually, my favorite, most comforting thing is to have coffee at a Peets near the grocery store. I sit outside and just watch the cars coming in and out of the parking lot and people buying their groceries. Normal, routine stuff. It just helps me to believe I will be like that again.
I also like just reading the memoirs here, knowing people who are doing stuff everyday. I love to read about what people are cooking or baking!
Just keep reading, DDC! Just keep writing. xxxooo
About The Happiness Project
SMITH Magazine is teaming up with Gretchen Rubin, author of the
bestselling book, The Happiness Project, as well as the popular daily blog,
to ask readers to share their "Secrets to Happiness"—in just six
words. Gretchen writes about happiness and how to take manageable,
concrete steps to become happier in everyday life, and her own
six-word Secret to Happiness is "Accept myself; Expect more from
myself."

I know it's hard to believe right now, but there will be moments -- bright flashes of happiness. You are too, well, YOU, for them not to find you.Dean6805 says,
I second LB's sentiment. You will be happy again. Love creates joy, and you have loved and been much loved.Dragonflower says,
