Backstory
Not me. In any case, knowing these streets like I do, I prefer the relatively safer sidewalk. You don’t want to go tempting anyone to run you over because surely they will; in Miami they hunt you down on purpose. Just ask the jet skiers. But I did have to cross the street and blew it on that run. That’s what happens when you ride at night, though I love to, you can’t see as well because of the shadows. I was braking to avoid a low embankment I didn’t see at first but over-braked just a tad and ended up almost eating pavement. All and all it wasn’t too bad. No road rash or broken anything and I am sure no one will remember the loon who fell off her bike and landed quite indiscriminately in front of their path. But there you go for the kindness of strangers where would I be? I seem to have plenty of those kind souls following me around because I took quite a spill in Niagara Falls, now that was a doozy, where I nearly broke my nose. That was a real gusher. I remember most distinctly the little boy who came over and commented on how much blood was on the sidewalk. He seemed to be fairly fascinated by it and by then it had mostly soaked into the pavers. They did wash it off; see they are very clean in Canada. Hygienically clean I think. Never saw a place so clean. I want to live there. Right along the Niagara Falls Parkway and be able to stick my toes in the river whenever I want.
