This picture was taken with my phone this past summer as I was winding down what was a truly do less but do more with my boy's attitude. I alligned myself to not stay at the house, turn on a screen or just let time pass. This day was one filled with play, laughter, shared stories, jumbled creativity and some great exposure to nature. We got up early on a sunny Sunday and took the train into Boston and got ourselves to the waterfront where we boarded a ferry. The ferry took us out to Specticle Island which is in the middle of Boston Harbor and has great elevation which allows you to see the entire skyline of the city. The boys made the decision to hike the entire island instead of hanging out and smimming at the beach. As we were near the end of the hike, my youngest son decided he wanted to go offshore and conquer his own island and thus his older brother decided to be the ruler of that island. As the picture holds true, my oldest is upon the peak of their island and my youngest is guarding for any intruders with the spear/walking stick he acquired in the first ten feet of our hike. The say was amazing and as I enjoy them more and more each day, I continue to make our time full of new adventurous experiences. Thanks for reading and if your a single dad and looking for things to do, just go and the adventure will follow.
