One of my step-sisters is transgender. When HE became a SHE, she asked my stepmother if my father would hug her. My stepmother said "why don't you ask him?" She did. They did. I think if two people truly LIKE each other, then gender identity won't be an issue. It certainly wasn't with my Dad. :-)
