Non- DNA Dads are NOT heroes.

Backstory

Non-DNA Dads CHOOSE to be the "father" of their partner's children. Maybe they do it because it's the price they have to pay to be in a relationship with their dream woman. Maybe they've always wanted to be a Dad and sees a ready-made, non dirty nappies or interrupted sleep opportunity to be just that. Maybe over time he will grow to love his non-DNA children, but don't paint him as a hero for God's sake!

I'm not sure I totally agree. I understand what you mean but it made me think of adoptive dads. Personally, I think any man who wants to be Dad these days is a hero. So many have no desire to be a hero to their own children.

Hero maybe not .... but be glad that stepdad is a good man. It's not always that way. I would have loved to have a man to look up to instead of a man who put on the charade of good daddy when everyone was around but said and did things that made me know I was unwanted, unloved, and not part of "their" family.
