Always had a saying about everything.



Backstory

My dad didn't talk much in conversation, but I can remember every one of his sayings. Like, "it's not the first cost, it's the upcreep." It meant that if you buy a mattress, then you need new sheets, blankets, etc. Or, "as a rule, a man's a fool. When it's hot he wants it cool. When it's cool we want it hot. Always wanting what is not." As much as they bugged me as a kid, I found myself telling my daughter what Grandpa Harry used to say.
