Katcan says,

My Father grew up one of 11 children, son of a sharecropper. He had to quit school in 6th grade to help support his family. His family NEVER owned a house they lived in. Daddy's dream was to own his own farm with as he said "water running through it." After marriage and 3 children my Father decided it was time to find his dreamland. He began searching and he found it. With my Mother, 2 brothers and I we farmed and loved the land. My brothers and I grew up playing in the woods, the creek and lake. I still remember the day Daddy called to "tell me something." Daddy had walked the land and picked us all a homeplace. I was overwhelmed with emotion. I of course loved the land and growing up there but it meant more. He gave us his dream. A poor boy looked down on by others, uneducated with an absent Father had accomplished his dreams. Being the wonderful Daddy he was he wanted us to have his dream. He wanted us to enjoy the land while he was alive and be able to raise our families there. We have. I have never been given a more wonderful gift than my Daddy giving me his dream. I love and miss my Daddy but only have to look around my home or walk out in the yard to feel close to him.
