In bed I like to read:
The best bed reading happens on a very hot day or a very cold day, when you have off work, and the extreme weather seems a compelling reason to lay down all day.After you've found a beverage, (is the sun over the yardarm?) and some finger food, you either take off most of your clothes or bundle up in blankets, as appropriate, and turn on the space heater or the ceiling fan. Barricade yourself in bed with pillows. Stack your "I've been meaning to read" pile around you. If you have a magazine or two in the mix all the better. You should have a light novel, a heavy novel, and a non-fiction book to switch between. You should allow ample time for staring at the wall and daydreaming, and you should provide yourself paper and pen to scribble with.
