Besides SMITH, I read stories at:
various websites offering the classics for free;
In bed I like to read:
Whatever's up next on my reading list but I try not to read in bed. I tend to read through the night and early morning such that it just kills me for the next day or so.
My favorite story of all time is:
there isn't one single story. let me think about this a bit
Right now, I'm reading:
whatever you think, think the opposite - Paul Arden
A Good Dog - Jon Katz
Tucson Magazine events section
Trader Joe's and the Co-op's flyer (grocery day tomorrow!)
A Fine Balance - Rohinton Mistry
Moving Over the Edge: Artists with Disabilities Take the Leap by Pamela Kay Walker
and, once again I have given up on Ulysses.
Okay, it looks like I have attention deficit syndrome where books are concerned, but really, I read whatever book is in the room I'm in when I feel the urge to read.
If you were to throw up your hands in exasperation and yell "it's the story of my life," what would you be talking about?
Imagine a door on rusted hinges
my arm is that door, defiant.
The hinges: my shoulders, willing movement -
it comes at the price of pain.
Eighteen pills and three days later,
and sometimes many more pills,
and months later... I'm dancing again.
Still can't say the "RA" word.
Ok, I'll say it. Rheumatoid. Arthritis.
My face grimaces in denial always,
those two words don't define me.
I make you see me whole.
I make you see the dancer.
Clawed hands disguised by graceful floreas,
Swollen feet bound by flamenco shoes,
Maimed hands, mangled feet, keep dancing.
