Having the right feeling at the wrong time, or being, as the expression goes, "a day late, a buck short." I always seem to be the "tragic hero." I'll save the girl I'm crazy about only to have her fall for someone else. So, to generalize, me doing the right thing and getting the wrong result.
Huh, well, this would be a first. Started with the book that I happened across while at Borders, and it led me here.
Whatever book I happen to be working my way through at the time, which is usually a mix of fiction and science fiction, with the occasional humorously entertaining non-fiction.
Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk and God is Dead by Ron Currie Jr. There are plenty of sci-fi books I love to re-read, but my favorite stories are the ones that feel closer to home, even if they aren't real.
The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Hienlein (still... keep getting distracted by other books.)
