Dancing with the Star's Lover

I ended up near the stage, taking pictures and moving to the music, when I saw a very attractive blonde behind me wearing a long...well, it looked like a nightgown.

I had never been to a rock concert before my freshman year in college. I wasn't the social type in high school, and my activities revolved more around going to sports events. But the opportunity to see Rod Stewart and the Faces—just months before Ron Wood left for the Rolling Stones—brought me out.

I ended up near the stage, taking pictures and moving to the music, when I saw a very attractive blonde behind me wearing a long...well, it looked like a nightgown. Smiling at my inept dancing, she came over and we both danced for a minute, then she left and I didn't see her for the rest of the show.

The following week, I was working at the student newspaper when the photographer brought in his shots of the concert. He had also gone out to the airport to shoot Stewart's arrival, and there, right behind Stewart, was the beautiful woman—his girlfriend at the time, Britt Ekland.
