So close, so vulnerable, so strong.


In the summer of 1996, I had the opportunity to be in the presence of Princess Diana in a small group setting in Chicago. I remember holding my breath the moment she came out on stage. Having seen endless images of her on the news and in print media, I could easily recognize her. She was quiet, yet poised, seemingly shy, yet clearly had an underlying strength. I will never forget being in her presence.
