Brad Pitt - My Fall for this Legend

It was May, 1995, and I was flying home from JFK to LAX - a trip I took about 6 times a year. As I was rushing for my seat at the last minute, I noticed a body in First Class, all covered up with 2 blankets.

I didn't think much of it. I made friends with my business class flight attendant, as I often do, and soon learned the covered up celeb was Brad Pitt. I scoffed, "Who cares, he is so small and skinny...no big deal!" Then, the movie came on. It was "Legends of the Fall" and there was Brad - right in my face, mounted on his glorious horse, galloping across the screen, with that glorious chest, that hair, that smile, and I started to understand what all of the fuss was about.

By the end of the movie, my friend and I "got" why Brad was so popular, and also why he was all covered up. My flight attendant friend told me he had boarded and was sitting in his seat normally, when he was informed the movie would be his. He cursed and then quickly went under cover and didn't come out the entire flight.

When the movie was over I sent him up a whiskey on the rocks - it seemed appropriate. He popped his head out - turned back to see me back in business class giving him a "thumbs up" and he gave me a sheepish grin and a thumbs up back. Then I fell.
