Bruce Springsteen's Wife Thinks I'm Adorable
I was not thrilled to be spending my 16th birthday at a Patti Scialfa concert.
It was my 16th birthday, and I stood in a Philadelphia alley with my middle-aged mother and aunt waiting for Patti Scialfa (known mostly for being Bruce Springsteen's wife) to come out to her tour bus. I was not thrilled to be spending my 16th birthday at a Patti Scialfa concert.
My aunt was looking for Patti, most likely so she could put a curse on her that would cause her fiery locks to fall out in clumps. Bruce would then leave her and immediately propose marriage to my aunt.
Patti finally emerged from the den of her dressing room. She looked too skinny and had on pancake makeup. My mother and aunt told her that it was my 16th birthday and that it was my dream to get her autograph. I was silent throughout the process. She posed for a picture with me and told me I was adorable.
My recently dyed hair was almost orange, and my polka-dotted frock was ill-fitting. I could not have been _that_ adorable.
