Mariska Hargitay

Mariska Hargitay

This year I was a seatfiller at the SAG Awards telecast. On my way out after the show, I suddenly came face to face with Mariska Hargitay. Actually, I had to look up at her - with her heels, she's about 2 inches taller than I am. I told her that I had met her mother in 1956 when I was in the Army.

I had gone to the Broadway play, "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter." Afterwards I got to go backstage since I was in my Army uniform. Jayne Mansfield saw me, walked over and gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek. She said "I love men in uniform." She was so sweet and autographed my play program and also kissed it leaving her lipstick prints on it. I felt very special and told Mariska that I thought she'd like to know just how kind her mother was. She shook my hand and thanked me for the story.

By the way - Mariska is quite beautiful when you are a foot away from her.
