EVENT: The War Room Runs With the Wolves
Monday, May 14th, 2007
Tomorrow, Tuesday, Shooting War’s Anthony Lappé hosts The War Room at Mo Pitkins, the monthly live political variety show featuring video, music, and a special audience participation contest (theme: “Invaded or Not Invaded?”)
This time he really brings it on, featuring the launch of Stephen Marshall’s controversial new book Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing: The New Liberal Menace in America. Sources say that Marshall will unfurl an exclusive, behind-the-scenes account of a gonzo intellectual quest that took him from the front lines of Iraq, through the wasteland of the former communist Eastern bloc, to a coke-dusted sex party of Britain’s elite, and into the minds of America’s most influential left wing thinkers in search of the soul of modernism liberalism. “Wolves is not a just an indictment of a bunch of graying sellouts,” says Lappé, “it is nothing short of a call to arms for our generation—a shot across the boomer bow that will challenge you to figure where you stand on the most important issues facing the planet.”
Which is a long way of saying: head to The War Room at Mo Pitkins in NYC’s Lower East Side, get mad, get going, and drink up.

Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate Stephen Marshall’s Wolves book launch last night at Mo Pitkin’s. We had a great audience, which included reporter David Enders and his beautiful wife, author/sister Anna Lappé, Lisa Hsu – producer of BattleGround and the upcoming Holy Wars, This Revolution star Nate Crooker, videojournalist Neil Katz, Moveon’s Laura Dawn, Air America’s Rachel Maddow, the New Press’ Ina Howard, NarcoNews publisher Al Giordano and a posse of young authentic journalists, actor George “Gen. Butler” Demas, GNNers Eepicheep and Number5toad, singer-songwriter Laura Bama Thomas, my wife and daughter, among many others I’m leaving out.
