Best. Wedding. Ever.

Didn’t know you could do this, but apparently, yes, you can spend your time having an elaborate wedding in a video game, make a “video” of it and then post it to YouTube. And it can be awesome. Make sure you stick around for the vows — if they don’t bring tears to your eyes, you’re made of stone. Or whatever the online gaming version of stone is.

Oh, yes, on-line weddings are quite nice. I believe they started with Everquest and have since been known to pop up in Phantasy Star Online and Final Fantasy 11 (Why anyone would even PLAY FF11, though, is beyond me). Also of note are on-line funerals. I heard there was actually one for some lady who died after playing World of Warcraft for more hours than humanly possible, and croaked because of it, never laying finger to mouse again. Friends of hers had a funeral for her in the game. Too bad some bad folks who heard about it came along and raided the funeral, killing all the mourners and gaining massive experience points for it.

Another awesome geek related thing to do–Cosplay.

Look it up if you’ve never heard of it before.
