A year or so ago, when my husband and I were considering buying an over-priced something or other with money we didn’t have, I was taken to a series of places that had obviously just been fixed up in order to be resold at a higher price. I asked her, “Why don’t you show me the places before they get fixed up?” She replied, “Real estate agents grab those places up before they hit the market.”

That did not fill me with confidence.

We did not buy at that time, but not for her lack of trying. “You’d better jump into the market. Prices are only going to keep going up. Even if you have a bad loan now, you can renegotiate in a few years when your property has appreciated.”

We would be so fucked now if we had listened to her.

So, cutting to the point, you are correct. Everybody in real estate is crooked.

I’ve been selling for almost 15 years. Most of my business comes from repeat business and referrals. I try to maintain high ethics and treat others fairly.

But, the sad part is that you are Right! There are crooks out there. I guess that’s why I have changed firms so much in the past 14 1/2 years.

I’m battling an issue right now. Why can’t people just be fair?
